From Chicago to Wisconsin

So we left Chicago after checking out of the Swissotel (I love Hotwire) and thought it would be a great idea to go around great places to eat in Chicago so we can take food with us that isn’t detrimental to our health.  Mostly because of the junk food we have had to suffer all the way to Chicago.  Well I’m going to be honest this was just one of my ploys to have great food under the guise of avoiding junk food.  I’m sure Lindsey was thinking the same thing I was. :D

So we left our hotel and made our way to Pita Inn again and then Lou Malnati’s Pizza for our final chance at Chicago food we love.  Once we left these two places Lindsey and I decided on going to the Northwestern University campus because Lindsey was considering applying there for her Masters.

Northwestern was bigger than I thought it was.  I never really knew that I lived about 10 minutes from there as a child.  It was such a scenic campus.  From the mossy building to the beach that was right on campus.  It seemed like a perfect place for Lindsey.  I know she is seriously considering applying there now.

Once we left Northwestern University we were on the road. Our next stop was Madison, Wisconsin, upon Umar’s (my brother’s) guidance.  It reminded me of Athens, Georgia and UGA.  State St.  was just like Clayton Street and Broad Street in Athens.  The only difference was that State St. was one long street and Clayton and Broad are parallel to each other.  So Madison was such a nice little college town.  I did stop in Madison for some pictures of the sunset over their lake, not to mention for some Wisconsin cheese and we thought we’d try a Free Trade Coffee.

So that is what we did on our way to Bismarck, North Dakota.  There wasn’t much to see in Bismarck.
