Atlanta Art: Downtown and Georgia State University

Looking back I can honestly say that Atlanta feels like home to me. Okay maybe a home away home. (Chicago. :D ) Anyway I love Atlanta and in the summer I decided to challenge myself by finding time before and after my classes to take some pictures around Atlanta. These are images from one day around Georgia State University.

Rice on the road while I was on my way to my class.

This is a building that is on the corner of Luckie Street and Peachtree Street in Atlanta.

I really liked how the tiles set up the negative spaces in this image.

A random building in Atlanta.

I liked how the pedestrian crossing is the foreground set up this image.

I liked how the pipes created the shadows and the barb wires in the foreground.

This is an older residential building in front of Georgia State University.

  1. Jason says:

That building with the outside spiral staircase is Building 3 of Americas Mart, known as the Apparel Mart. The reason I know this is because, I used to work in Building 1 or The Merchandise Mart for a while, and my father worked in Building 2 or The Gift Mart. My father was Chief engineer of all 3 buildings and oversaw the building process of buildings 2 and 3. I miss you dad and I love you.
Just thought I would throw that in there.
    Very nice shots Hassan.

  2. I’m glad you added that Jason. I didn’t know how involved your father was in the building process, that is really cool. I remember when you used to work there. Good times man.
